Webinar #1: Demystifying Statistics for Neuropsychologists
Date: Thursday, September 19 at 5:30 pm EST
Presenter: Nicholas S. Thaler, Ph.D. ABPP-CN
Facilitator: Michelle Chen, PhD
Neuropsychological measures are developed and normed based on statistical assumptions that are widely known but not always fully understood, especially by those in training! This webinar will provide an overview of common techniques that are relevant to both clinicians and researchers.
Content will include:
Deconstruction of the multiple regression equation – how coefficient estimation is utilized in the general linear model. This model serves as the basis of correlation, ANOVA, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, among other techniques.
Methods of classifying groups using cluster analysis.
Overview of binary classifier statistics that aid in diagnostic sensitivity/specificity.
